Online Account:
- How do I create an account?
- Click on "Create an Account" on the login page.
- Answer the preliminary questions to find out if you already have an in-house account set up with Trading Places.
- If yes, you will be asked for your member number and phone number. Next you'll be asked to create a login and password. Your member number and phone number will have to match the information we have on record. Please contact Trading Places if you don't know your member number or can't find a match to your phone number. Do not create a whole new account; you will not be able to view history or current deposited weeks you have with Trading Places.
- If you answer no to the questions, please enter your contact information and create a login and password.
- I've worked with Trading Places before. Why do I need to create an account?
It is true that if you have deposited/exchanged your week, purchased Hot Deals or are a club member you will already have an account on record. The purpose of "creating an account" is to connect to that account to view your information online. Please follow the instructions in question 1.
- What is my member number?
Your member number is the same number that is found on the top left section of the (deposit, exchange or Hot Deals) confirmations you may have received from Trading Places. This number is probably different from your club or owner numbers. Contact Trading Places if you can't remember your member number.
- Why am I unable to login?
Please be sure you have created an account. See questions 1 and 2.
- I don't remember my login. How do I retrieve it?
Your login is your email address. Please contact Trading Places if it says your email is not on record or if you are having other problems with your login.
- I don't remember my password. How do I retrieve it?
Please click "Forgot my Password" on the Login page. You will be asked to enter your login email address or member number, and asked a secret security question. Please answer the secret question and click Get Password. Your password will appear on the screen.
- How do I update my email? When I click on Update Account Information there is no place for me to change my email.
Your email is the same one used for your login email. To update your email address, login and go to My Account. Click on the Change Login Email link and complete the form.
- How do I change my password?
Login and go to My Account. Click on the Change Login Password link and complete the form.
Exchange:
- Why can I sometimes find availability
on your Hot Deals condo rentals list, but I can't exchange
into that week?
Trading Places International® provides a service
whereby owners may list their unused weeks for rent. In
order to better service the owners that have elected to
give Trading Places International their weeks to rent on
their behalf, we are now able to post availability on our
online Hot Deals list, viewable by the public. However,
the entire list of inventory on the Hot Deals list is not
only owner rental inventory; some of the weeks may also
be used for an exchange. Please visit the Last Minute Exchanges
list for inventory that is available for exchange. Please
note: the owner rental weeks will appear on our Hot Deals
list, usually for a higher rental rate, but will not appear
on the Last Minute Exchanges page.
- How do I make an exchange with
Trading Places?
Simple. Call us and let us know what you are giving up and
what you want to exchange into. There are no fees unless
we can confirm your request to your satisfaction. You may
also exchange online. Click
here to search exchange availability. Once you find
the perfect match, click Exchange, follow the steps and
print your confirmation.
- Where can I exchange with Trading
Places?
To almost any timeshare resort in the world, but we specialize
in several hundred resorts located throughout Hawaii, Mexico
and the most popular US destinations. Click
here to review Trading Places' Exchange Directory. You
may also search destination and date exchange availability
online, click
here.
- What if I cannot find the destination
or dates I am looking for online?
TPI has relationships that give us access to inventory
above and beyond what you see online. Enter a request
and a representative will contact you once we find a match.
- Can I request an exchange into
a larger unit than what I own or for a higher demand season?
Yes, but remember, exchanging is based on like value. If
you give up a unit that sleeps four in low season, that
is what you are entitled to. Trading Places allows owners
the flexibility of requesting a larger unit or a higher
demand season by paying an upgrade fee.
- Why are my fees discounted on
my online exchanges?
You may be a member of one of our exchange programs
that entitles you to discounted fees.
- Do I have to join Trading Places
to use their services?
No. Unlike the other major exchange companies, there are
no mandatory membership fees to exchange through Trading
Places.
- Does Trading Places offer any
type of Membership?
Yes, Trading Places offers an optional membership to their
Vacation Exchange Club. Members receive discounts on exchanges
and upgrades as well as many great travel and rental bargains.

Other:
- Can I deposit my week with Trading Places and save it for a later exchange?
Yes. Trading Places will save your week for up to two full years. There is no fee for banking. You only pay an exchange fee when you later place an exchange request and your request is completed to your satisfaction.
- Can Trading Places rent my timeshare week?
Trading Places represents the owners at several first class properties they manage in Puerto Vallarta , Cabo San Lucas , Hawaii and many popular US destinations. Owners at select resorts can list their units for rental, and these weeks are made available to interested renters. Timeshare should never be purchased as a rental investment, and rarely will a timeshare owner make a profit on renting their unit, but renting can be used to help offset some of the expenses of owning when the owner cannot use their week.
- Can Trading Places sell my unit?
Trading Places conducts active resales at several of the resorts we manage, and at a few other resorts that we know well. To find out if Trading Places can help you in your situation, please call our corporate office and ask for our resale department at 800-365-1048, or send us an e-mail letting us know what you own, and we'll get right back to you. Trading Places does not charge a listing fee.
