History
Trading Places International® opened its doors in 1973 as a full-service travel agency in Southern California. The company became involved with vacation ownership resorts in 1975 when it coordinated travel for developer "fly/buy" programs in Hawaii. Trading Places International's vacation exchange business was born with the company's creation of a successful exchange program for a resort in Mexico. The first Trading Places satellite office opened in Hawaii in 1985. In 1994, with the addition of two seasoned timeshare veterans, services were broadened to include resort management. 1997 saw the addition of a final timeshare business development expert, completing the circle of service and evidence of Trading Places International's commitment to its future in servicing in vacation ownership.
Exchange
Trading Places notes that 80% of vacation owners want to exchange to 20% of vacation destinations. The company focuses its exchange services on these high demand regions. TPI offers traditional fees for domestic and international resorts as well as a unique option of exchanging back to the vacationer's home resort, and for TPI Vacation Exchange Club members, at a reduced exchange fee.

Trading Places International has maintained a full service travel agency on-site at the corporate California office since its inception. TPI’s travel agent offerings are enhanced with the experienced use of the internet. Condo & Villa Rentals
Trading Places International has been successful renting resort, hotel, and private villa accommodations for over 35 years. The company’s commitment to utilizing the powerful resources of the internet and direct, on-line bookings complete the circle of reservations success.

Those who vacation in Hawaii can set up their island activities whether it be by land, sea or air. Luaus, golf, snorkeling trips and helicopter rides are just the beginning of their Paradise Vacation Adventures.
Resorts to Ports® Cruise Exchange
Selected Trading Places timeshare owners have the ability to exchange their timeshare week towards a cruise. Consumers work directly with TPI certified cruise counselors who offer the Best Choice for their needs. Cruises are offered the lowest, unpublished rates.
Premier Access®
Premier Accesss is a special vacation opportunity allowing certain timeshare owners the option of exchanging Use Time to resorts within Trading Places' "Premier Access Family of Resorts." Other benefits include bonus time vacations, upgrades, guest certificates and more.
