Whether you’re new to timeshare exchange, or a seasoned exchanger but new to Trading Places, depositing and exchanging can be confusing…especially when each exchange company has different rules and processes. Select from the steps below for more details on how to deposit, exchange and more with Trading Places International. Exchanging with TPI is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Deposit Your Week

Depositing (banking) your week means giving up your time now (putting it into the "bank") and receiving credit to use for a future exchange. You do not need to know which resort you want to exchange into before depositing, and depositing early is always recommended.

  • Maintenance fees of the week you want to deposit must be paid prior to depositing.
  • There is no mandatory membership fee required to deposit your week with Trading Places International.
  • Your week must be deposited and verified before it can be exchanged. Note: Deposits are guaranteed if requests are submitted 60 days or more prior to arrival, subject to verification.
  • If you are thinking of taking advantage of our Resorts to Ports program and would like to exchange your week toward a cruise or vacation package, your week must be deposited specifically with Resorts to Ports. Your week cannot already be deposited with TPI exchange or another exchange company. Please call 800-365-8644 for more information or to deposit with Resorts to Ports.

2. Exchange Your Week

Exchanging (trading) is the use of a unit/week, other than the unit/week which you own or have reserved, at your own Resort (internal exchange) or another Resort (external exchange).

  • Now that you have credit for a week in the TPI “bank” you have two years to use that credit towards an exchange.
  • Upgrades – Trading Places allows exchangers to upgrade into a larger unit or higher season than the week deposited, for a nominal upgrade fee.
  • Exchange Directory – Need ideas for your exchange? Research destinations, resorts, photos, amenities and more by reviewing our exchange directory.

First we have to double check:

  1. Do you have your confirmation? Our Vacation Specialists can either mail or email your confirmation to you, but the easiest way to receive a copy of your confirmation is to log into your online account. If you do not have an online account, call us at 800-365-7617 to help set up a login and password for the account we have for you on file.

  2. Have you double checked your arrival/departure dates? Nothing is worse than showing up to a resort ready for vacation…and you’re a week early or late! Never hurts to double check!

Do I have to be a member of Trading Places?

All timeshare owners are welcome! Trading Places does not require a mandatory membership fee to review available inventory, deposit, or exchange. We don’t have a mandatory membership fee for any of our services!
